Known issue: False gamepad detection

On some Xiaomi devices it has been reported that an external controller may be falsely detected, disabling touch input.

To work around this issue, select Enable Touch Controls from the popup at game launch. This setting can also be toggled at any time via Options → Advanced options → Prioritise Touch Controls.
