How do I redeem a Steam game purchased from the Feral Store or other vendors?

How you redeem a Steam game purchased from somewhere other than the Steam store depends on whether you have purchased the game via download or in a box.

In either case, you will need a Steam account to play the game. If you don’t already have one, download and install the Steam application, then create an account. Both the Steam service and the application are free.

If you have bought the game via download:

You should have received a Steam code via email. If you did not, please contact the vendor from whom you bought the game.

1. Launch the Steam application.
2. If you are not already signed in, the Steam Login dialog will appear. Enter your account name and password, then select Login.
3. Click the Games menu.
4. Select Activate a Product on Steam...
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the redemption process.

If you have bought the game in a box:

During the installation process, you will be asked to enter your Product Key: this can be found on the back of the manual.

1. Insert the game disc into your Mac’s DVD drive and wait for the disc icon to appear on your desktop.
2. Double-click on the disc icon to open it.
3. Double-click on the installer icon.
4. If you are not already signed in, the Steam Login dialog will appear. Enter your account name and password, then select Login.
5. The Steam application will launch. Follow the instructions in Steam to complete the installation process.
