A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games.
These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects.
Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms—children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures. The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions: Sit farther from the screen; use a smaller screen; play in a well-lit room; and do not play when you are drowsy or fatigued. If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.

When exploring the hub world, follow the trail of floating green studs to reach the next level.
The first time you play a level, you do so in Story mode and only have access to a limited cast of characters. Some areas and collectibles will be out of reach in story mode: return to the level in Free Play mode and use different characters to explore new areas.
Once you have completed a level in Story mode, you can replay it in Free Play mode using any of the characters you have unlocked so far. You can use different characters to access areas that were previously inaccessible and find collectibles you missed the first time round.
To replay a level, you must first be located in the hub world. Press the M key to open the map, then select the Level tab. Locate the level you want to replay, then select it by pressing the J key.
New characters will unlock as you play through the game. Different characters have different abilities, so if you find that you can't perform an action or access an area with one character, try switching to another.
Some characters are only unlocked by collecting Character Tokens, which are scattered throughout the game.
To change characters, press the U key to switch to the nearest playable character.
In Free Play mode, hold the U key down to bring up the Character Grid, which lets you switch to any of your unlocked characters.
Some characters can fly or glide. Make them jump by pressing the J key, then press the J key again to have them fly or glide.
While flying, use the J and K keys to climb and descend.
Some characters have weapons that you need to aim before firing or throwing, such as Deadshot’s gun or Captain Boomerang’s boomerang.
To aim and fire, hold down the H key to bring up the target reticle. When the reticle appears, use the W / A / S / D keys to position it over your target, then release the H key to throw or fire your weapon.
You'll find plenty of vehicles that you can drive scattered throughout the game.
To get into a vehicle, stand next to it and press the U key. To get out, press the U key again.
To accelerate, press the J key, and to brake or reverse, press or hold the K key. To steer, use the A and D keys.
In the hub world, vehicles are summoned from the vehicle grid by pressing the H key while holding down the U key.
At any time during the game you can pull out your smartphone and take an awesome selfie! Press the left Ctrl key to enter photo mode, then press the H key to take a photo.
You can zoom in or out using the Y and I keys, or change filters using the left Ctrl key and Space bar.
If you need help, press the R key when Johnny DC appears on screen to display a hint.
LEGO studs are scattered throughout the game, and can be used to purchase new characters and game effects. Collect enough in a level to achieve True Villain status and receive a gold brick.
You earn a Character Token when you complete a story level, and there are more Character Tokens hidden around the hub world. When you earn or find a Character Token, that character becomes available to purchase from the Character Grid.
There are 5 minikits to collect in each level, some of which can only be reached in Free Play mode. Some minikits are awarded for completing tasks, whereas others simply need to be found. Find all five minikits in a level to earn a gold brick.
In each level there is a graffiti spot where characters with the graffiti ability, for example the Joker or Harley Quinn, can spray a self-portrait and take a selfie with it. If you find the Picture Perfect location in a level, you’ll receive a gold brick.
Red bricks allow you to purchase and activate special gameplay effects from the Extras section of the Pause menu. There is one red brick hidden in each level. Some of these can only be found in Free Play mode.
Up to four gold bricks can be earned in each level. Gold bricks are awarded for:
How a second player joins the game depends on whether they are using a gamepad or a keyboard.
Before starting the game, make sure the gamepad is connected to your computer. To activate Player 2 press any button on the gamepad during play. The character icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen will flash several times to confirm that a second player has joined.
Press the F2 key during play to activate Player 2. The character icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen will flash several times to confirm that a second player has joined.
NOTE: If pressing the F2 key has no effect, you may need to change your keyboard's default settings. For instructions on how to do this, please see When I press the Function keys (F1-F19) nothing happens. How do I use the Function keys? in the FAQs.
