1. Installation

   As part of the Steam download process, the game has already been installed on your computer. To start playing the game, read the Getting Started section.

2. Getting Started

   1. If it is not already running, launch the Steam application.

   2. Select Library.

   3. In the library, select Life Is Strange, then select Play.

   4. The Life Is Strange pre-game Options window will appear. Click on the Play button. The game will launch.

   5. After the loading screens, the Title screen will appear. Press any button.

   6. The Screen Size Adjustment screen will appear. Adjust the screen size using the arrows keys until the corner markers are aligned with the edges of your screen. Select Apply.

   7. The Savegame Select screen will appear. Start a new game by selecting an empty savegame slot.

   8. The Main Menu will appear. Select New Game.

   9. After the opening video, you'll find Max caught in a ferocious thunderstorm, desperately seeking shelter at a nearby lighthouse…

3. Life Is Strange Performance Tips

   The most important factors in determining how smoothly Life Is Strange plays are your CPU speed, the amount of built-in RAM, the type of graphics card in your computer and the in-game settings you select.

   Life Is Strange is playable with the minimum specifications listed below, but it will play more smoothly on faster computers with more RAM. However, if you are dissatisfied with the performance of the game on your computer, there are a couple of things you can do that are likely to improve performance:

   • Close all other applications: You are strongly encouraged to quit all other applications before launching Life Is Strange – other applications drain resources and slow the overall system performance.
   • Clear disk space: Ensure that your main hard disk has plenty of spare disk space.
   • If you have a second monitor, disconnect it (having an additional monitor connected to your computer may create a drop in performance).
   • If you are using a laptop, plug in your charger (running on battery power may create a drop in performance).

   
   In addition to these general actions, there are numerous specific in-game settings you can select to speed up the game. These are listed below in order of performance improvement (largest improvement first). Move down the list adjusting settings until you find an acceptable balance between performance and graphics.

   NOTE: All of these settings are found in either Life Is Strange's pre-game Options window under the Display tab or within the game under Help & Options → Settings → Video settings → Advanced video, accessible from the Main Menu.

4. Uninstalling

   To uninstall Life Is Strange, follow these steps:

   1. If it is not already running, launch the Steam application.

   2. Select the Library tab.

   3. In the library, right-click on Life Is Strange™ in the list of games on the left-hand side of the window, then select Manage → Uninstall.

   4. A dialog will appear confirming that you wish to delete all the game content. Select Uninstall.

   
   You may also wish to remove the Life Is Strange preferences, which are stored in the feral-interactive folder in your computer's ~/.local/share folder (where the "~" symbol refers to your home directory). Deleting the preferences folder will remove the save files, so all game progress will be lost.

   NOTE: By default, the .local folder is hidden from Files. Press Control (ctrl) + H to reveal hidden folders.

   NOTE: If you have more than one game from Feral installed, remember to check inside the folder so that you do not delete preferences for other Feral games.

   Hard Disk: 16GB
   Input: Keyboard and mouse

   Recommended System Requirements
   Processor: Intel i5
   RAM: 8GB
   Graphics: Nvidia 7xx (driver version: 367.27)
   OS: Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit, SteamOS 2.0
   Hard Disk: 16GB

   NOTE: AMD graphics cards are not currently supported on SteamOS.
