  3. Total War: SHOGUN 2 Performance Tips

The most important factors in determining how smoothly Total War: SHOGUN 2 plays are your CPU speed, the amount of built-in RAM, the type of graphics card in your computer and the in-game settings you select.

Total War: SHOGUN 2 is playable with the minimum specifications listed below, but it will play more smoothly on faster computers with more RAM. However, if you are dissatisfied with the performance of the game on your computer, there are a couple of things you can do that are likely to improve performance:

In addition to these general Mac actions, there are numerous specific in-game settings you can select to speed up the game. These are listed below in order of performance improvement (largest improvement first). Move down the list adjusting settings until you find an acceptable balance between performance and graphics.

Hover over any item in the in-game Graphics menu to see a description of its effect.

    * This setting will only be available if you have purchased the Blood Pack DLC.

NOTE: All of these settings are found in either Total War: SHOGUN 2's pre-game Options window under the Display tab or within the game under OptionsGraphics, accessible from the Main Menu.

NOTE: Depending on the power of your machine and on the graphics settings you have selected (certain settings restrict others), some of the above options may not be available.
