  1. Installation

    As part of the Steam download process, the game has already been installed on your computer. To start playing the game, read the Getting Started section.

  2. Getting Started

    1. If it is not already running, launch the Steam application.

    2. If you are not already signed in, the Steam Login dialog will appear. Enter your account name and password, then select Login.

    3. The Steam application will launch. Select the Library tab.

    4. In the library, highlight Rise of the Tomb Raider in the list of games on the left-hand side of the window, then select Play.

    5. The Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration pre-game Options window will appear. Click on the Play button. The game will launch.

    6. After the loading screens, the Main Menu will appear. Select New Game.

    7. The Combat Difficulty screen will appear. Select a difficulty. If this is your first time playing a Tomb Raider game, we recommend selecting Adventurer.

    8. After the opening video, you'll find Lara and Jonah ascending a snowy Siberian mountain. With a storm approaching fast, you'll need to move quickly to reach the summit...

  3. Uninstalling

    To uninstall Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, follow these steps:

    1. If it is not already running, launch the Steam application.

    2. Select the Library tab.

    3. In the library, right-click on Rise of the Tomb Raider™ in the list of games on the left-hand side of the window, then select ManageUninstall.

    4. A dialog will appear confirming that you wish to delete all the game content. Select Uninstall.


    You may also wish to remove the Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration preferences, which are stored in the feral-interactive folder in your computer's ~/.local/share folder (where the "~" symbol refers to your home directory). Deleting the preferences folder will remove the save files, so all game progress will be lost.

    NOTE: By default, the .local folder is hidden from Files. Press Control (ctrl) + H to reveal hidden folders.

    NOTE: If you have more than one game from Feral installed, remember to check inside the folder so that you do not delete preferences for other Feral games.

  4. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Performance Tips

    The most important factors in determining how smoothly Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration plays are your CPU speed, the amount of built-in RAM, the type of graphics card in your computer, and the in-game settings you select.

    Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is playable with the minimum specifications listed below, but it will play more smoothly on faster computers with more RAM. However, if you are dissatisfied with the performance of the game on your computer, there are a couple of things you can do that are likely to improve performance:


    In addition to these general actions, there are some specific in-game settings you can select to speed up the game. These are listed below in order of performance improvement (largest improvement first). Move down the list making the recommended changes until you find settings that give you both good performance and acceptable graphics.
