Signing up to WBPlay grants you access to the Battle Brands decal, which you can use to customize the Magnum Opus.

To sign up to WBPlay, select WBPlay from the Main Menu.

Once you've signed up, you can apply the decal by selecting GarageDecalsBattle Brands from the in-game Pause menu.

  3. How do I access the Log?

  4. How do I lower the drawbridge in the Underdune?

Shortly after you enter the Underdune, an enemy raises a drawbridge, preventing you from continuing in your vehicle. You must proceed on foot and break the wheel securing the drawbridge to lower it, before you can continue.

Due to a bug in this section of the game, you will be unable to continue if you kill the enemy before he has raised the bridge, or if you break the wheel before the bridge has been raised.

Unfortunately, there is no solution to this problem at present. If you find yourself unable to continue, you should load a saved game from a point before you entered the Underdune.

  5. How do I record video footage from the game using Capture Mode?

To record video footage using QuickTime Player, follow the steps below:

    1. Open QuickTime Player. By default, you can find the QuickTime Player application icon in the Applications folder on your Mac.

The gamepads in the following list have been tested and are supported by Mad Max:

If your gamepad is not on the list, email padsupport@feralinteractive.com and our support team will reply to you with a request for information about your device. Once we have this information, a gamepad support file will be created and emailed to you.

  9. How do I switch my pad to the correct mode?

Some gamepads support both DirectInput and XInput modes. These gamepads can be identified by a switch on them that has two options, “D” (DirectInput) and “X” (XInput).

To play Mad Max a gamepad must be supported and set to DirectInput mode.

Currently supported devices that have this switch are:

If your gamepad has the switch and is not on this list, you will not be able to use it to play Mad Max without a pad support file. To obtain one, email padsupport@feralinteractive.com and our support team will reply to you with a request for information about your device. Once we have this information, we can usually create a gamepad support file and email it to you.

To switch the gamepad to DirectInput mode, follow these instructions:

    1. If the Mad Max application is running, close it.

    2. Unplug the gamepad (or wireless receiver, if the gamepad is wireless).

    3. Turn the switch on the pad to “D”.

    4. Plug the pad or wireless receiver back in.

    5. Restart the Mad Max application.

You will now be able to play Mad Max with the gamepad.

  20. How do I take screenshots in Mad Max?

To take screenshots while playing Mad Max you should use the following key command:

    Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + P

When you press all three keys at once, a single image of the on-screen contents will be saved in the Feral Interactive folder in your computer's ~/Pictures folder (the "~" symbol refers to your home directory).

The JPEG image contains metadata in a string in the following format.

GameName/Version Number (OS Version; CPU Speed; Installed RAM; Video RAM; Current Graphics Card)

For example in Mad Max the string might look a little like this:

    Mad Max/1.0 (macOS 10.13.4; 3.0; 8.0; 4.0; AMD Radeon R9 M395X)

This information can be easily removed by exporting the screenshot into a different format using Preview or another image editing tool.

NOTE: None of the metadata stored can be used to identify the user.

  21. Can I play this game on a case-sensitive file system?

No. Mad Max has been tested with the basic formatting option for Mac OS X, which is HFS+. This system is not case-sensitive and identifies files by name without checking capitalization.

The capitalization of filenames is not consistent throughout the game. While this will not always prevent the game from running on case-sensitive file systems, it may lead to crashes and other unpredictable behaviour.

If you have to run a case-sensitive setup and you experience problems with Mad Max, please install the game on a standard formatted partition or read/write disk image. In most cases this will allow you to play the game on your machine.

To see a list of the libraries used in Mad Max, and view their license files, select Software Licenses from the Support tab of the pre-game Options window.
