  3. Can I play LEGO Jurassic World with a gamepad?

    Yes.

LEGO Jurassic World supports two categories of gamepads: Xbox 360 controllers (which require you to install a software driver) and other supported gamepads, listed below:

If you have an Xbox 360 controller, see How do I use an Xbox 360-compatible controller with LEGO Jurassic World? in these FAQs for a link to the software driver.

  4. How do I use an Xbox 360-compatible controller with LEGO Jurassic World?

The following Xbox 360-compatible controllers require a software driver in order to work:

The driver can be downloaded here:

    https://github.com/360Controller/360Controller/releases

Although these drivers are fully supported by the game, Feral does not offer support with the installation or operation of third-party drivers.

  5. Are there any gamepads that are recognised but unsupported?

    Yes.

The following gamepads will be recognised by the game but do not have enough buttons or analog controls to support all the possible in-game controls, meaning some in-game tasks will require the keyboard or mouse:

  6. When using a gamepad, how do I make my character run?

If you are moving using an analog stick on your gamepad, you may find that your character will only walk slowly, rather than run, even when you push the stick as far as possible in the direction you wish to move.

To fix this, you should enable the Stick Range Boost option in the Control Setup menu. To do so, ensure that your gamepad is plugged in before starting LEGO Jurassic World, then follow the steps below:

    1. From the Main Menu, select Options.

    2. Select Control Configuration.

    3. The Control Setup menu will appear. Set Stick Range Boost to Enabled.

  7. How do I switch my pad to the correct mode?

Some gamepads support both DirectInput and XInput modes. These gamepads can be identified by a switch on them that has two options, “D” (DirectInput) and “X” (XInput).

To play LEGO Jurassic World a gamepad must be supported and set to DirectInput mode.

Currently supported devices that have this switch are:

If your gamepad has the switch and is not on this list, you will not be able to use it to play LEGO Jurassic World without a pad support file. To obtain one, email padsupport@feralinteractive.com and our support team will reply to you with a request for information about your device. Once we have this information, we can usually create a gamepad support file and email it to you.

To switch the gamepad to DirectInput mode, follow these instructions:

    1. If the LEGO Jurassic World application is running, close it.

    2. Unplug the gamepad (or wireless receiver, if the gamepad is wireless).

    3. Turn the switch on the pad to “D”.

    4. Plug the pad or wireless receiver back in.

    5. Restart the LEGO Jurassic World application.

You will now be able to play LEGO Jurassic World with the gamepad.

  8. How does a second player join the game?

How a second player joins the game depends on whether they are using a gamepad or a keyboard.

    Joining using a gamepad

Before starting the game, make sure the gamepad is connected to your computer. Press any button on the gamepad during play to activate Player 2. The character icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen will flash several times to confirm that a second player has joined.

    Joining using a keyboard

Press the F2 key during play to activate Player 2. The character icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen will flash several times to confirm that a second player has joined.

NOTE: If pressing the F2 key has no effect, you may need to change your keyboard's default settings. For instructions on how to do this, please see When I press the Function keys (F1-F19) nothing happens. How do I use the Function keys? in these FAQs.

  9. How do I change the split screen mode?

When playing LEGO Jurassic World with a second player, the screen will need to be “split” so that both players’ characters can be displayed at once. You can choose between two different split screen modes:

To change the split screen mode, follow these instructions:

    1. Pause the game during play and select Options.

    2. Highlight the Split Screen Mode option and press the Return (↩) key to switch the mode.

    3. Highlight Accept and press the Return (↩) key.

NOTE: In some levels, you will not be able to change the split screen mode.

  10. When I press the Function keys (F1-F19) nothing happens. How do I use the Function keys?

By default, Mac OS X uses the F keys to control items such as volume and brightness. To use an F key for a game command hold down the fn key, then press the F key you wish to use.

To automatically enable the F keys, follow these steps:

    1. Open System Preferences ( MenuSystem Preferences).

    2. Click on Keyboard or Keyboard and Mouse (depending on the version of Mac OS X you are running).

    3. Select the Keyboard tab.

    4. Check the Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys checkbox.

The F keys will now work without using the fn key.

  11. Where are my saved games stored?

Your saved games are stored in your game's preferences folder.

To open this folder, click the Open Preferences Folder button in the Support tab of the pre-game Options window.

You can also navigate to the preferences folder manually. It is stored in the Feral Interactive folder in your computer's ~/Library/Application Support folder (where the "~" symbol refers to your home directory).

By default, the Library folder is hidden from your Finder. To open it, follow these instructions:

    1. Open the Finder.

    2. Open the Go menu from the main toolbar.

    3. Hold down the Alt (⌥) key. The Library option will appear.

    4. Click on the Library option. The Library folder will open in your Finder.

  12. Can I play this game on a case-sensitive file system?

No. LEGO Jurassic World has been tested with the basic formatting option for Mac OS X, which is HFS+. This system is not case-sensitive and identifies files by name without checking capitalization.

The capitalization of filenames is not consistent throughout the game. While this will not always prevent the game from running on case-sensitive file systems, it may lead to crashes and other unpredictable behaviour.

If you have to run a case-sensitive setup and you experience problems with LEGO Jurassic World, please install the game on a standard formatted partition or read/write disk image. In most cases this will allow you to play the game on your machine.
