1. Installation

   As part of the Steam download process, the game has already been installed on your computer. To start playing the game, read the Getting Started section.

2. Getting Started

   1. If it is not already running, launch the Steam application.

   2. Select Library.

   3. In the library, select Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, then select Play.

   4. The Deus Ex: Mankind Divided pre-game Options window will appear. Click on the Play button. The game will launch.

   5. After the loading screens, the Main Menu will appear. Select Story.

   6. Select New Game.

   7. The New Game screen will appear, where you can choose the game’s difficulty. Select a difficulty setting. If this is your first time playing a Deus Ex title, we recommend that you select Give me a Challenge.

   8. A dialog box will appear offering you the chance to watch a recap of the events from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. If you haven’t played Deus Ex: Human Revolution, we recommend that you watch the video.

   9. After the opening video, you will find yourself aboard a Task Force 29 aircraft, being briefed for an undercover mission in Dubai…

3. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Performance Tips

   The most important factors in determining how smoothly Deus Ex: Mankind Divided plays are your CPU speed, the amount of built-in RAM, the type of graphics card in your computer and the in-game settings you select.

   Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is playable with the minimum specifications listed below, but it will play more smoothly on faster computers with more RAM. However, if you are dissatisfied with the performance of the game on your computer, there are a couple of things you can do that are likely to improve performance:

   • Close all other applications: You are strongly encouraged to quit all other applications before launching Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – other applications drain resources and slow the overall system performance.
   • Clear disk space: Ensure that your main hard disk has plenty of spare disk space.
   • If you have a second monitor, disconnect it (having an additional monitor connected to your computer may create a drop in performance).
   • If you are using a laptop, plug in your charger (running on battery power may create a drop in performance).

   
   In addition to these general actions, there are numerous specific in-game settings you can select to speed up the game. These are listed below in order of performance improvement (largest improvement first). Move down the list adjusting settings until you find an acceptable balance between performance and graphics.

   NOTE: All of these settings are found in either Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's pre-game Options window under the Display tab or within the game under Options → Display and Options → Graphics, accessible from the Main Menu.

4. Uninstalling

   To uninstall Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, follow these steps:

   1. If it is not already running, launch the Steam application.

   2. Select the Library tab.

   3. In the library, right-click on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided™ in the list of games on the left-hand side of the window, then select Uninstall....

   4. A dialog will appear confirming that you wish to delete all the game content. Select Delete.

   
   You may also wish to remove the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided preferences, which are stored in the feral-interactive folder in your computer's ~/.local/share folder (where the "~" symbol refers to your home directory). Deleting the preferences folder will remove the save files, so all game progress will be lost.

   NOTE: By default, the .local folder is hidden from Files. Press Control (ctrl) + H to reveal hidden folders.

   NOTE: If you have more than one game from Feral installed, remember to check inside the folder so that you do not delete preferences for other Feral games.

   Hard Disk: 70GB
   Input: Gamepad

   NOTE: AMD and Intel graphics cards are not currently supported by Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
