This document is intended to help you answer any questions that you may have about Enemy Engaged

  1. Where are my saved games stored?

Q : Where are my saved games stored?

A : The saved games are stored:
  • In ~/Library/Preferences/Razorworks/
(Where "~" is your Home folder)

Q : I would like to play Enemy Engaged on OS 9 Can I do this?

A : No. Enemy Engaged is only compatible with OS X.

Q : I have 2 monitors attached to my computer - how do I change which screen the game runs on?

A : If you have more than one monitor connected to your Mac that is capable of supporting Enemy Engaged , a dialog will be displayed when Enemy Engaged is launched that will allow you to choose which monitor is used for the game.

Holding down the '⌘' key while starting the game will display the dialog screen if you have previously disabled it.

Q : Enemy Engaged runs slowly on my computer. Is there anything I can do to increase the speed?

A : There are several factors which have an impact on the speed at which Enemy Engaged runs. Please see the sections titled "General Performance issues" and " Enemy Engaged Performance Tips" in the Enemy Engaged ReadMe for a guide to increasing the speed at which the game runs on your computer.

Q : How do I get technical support for Enemy Engaged ?

Q : How do I uninstall Enemy Engaged ?

A : To uninstall Enemy Engaged , simply drag the folder called Enemy Engaged from your hard drive and drop it in the Trash, then empty the Trash. Remember also to remove the Enemy Engaged preferences, which are stored in a folder called 'Razorworks' in your computer's 'Preferences' folder.

IMPORTANT: If you have more than one game from Razorworks installed, remember to check inside the folder so that you do not delete other Razorworks game preferences.

Q : I cannot play on the Internet through Game Ranger, what is the problem?

A : You will not be able to play via Game Ranger if you do not have full access to the internet - restricted access is usually the result of a Firewall or Gateway.

1.) If you are running a Firewall:
Open port 15000 on the TCP protocol.

2.) If you are running a Gateway:
Setup routing tables.

If you are running both a Firewall and Gateway follow both sets of instructions. For further information, contact your network administrator, ISP or refer to these GameRanger Help pages.

Q : Can I play against PC opponents online?

A : No. Network games of Enemy Engaged between Macs and PCs are not possible.

Q : Are there any command line options?

A : Yes, there are a few and they are listed below. To use command line options, click on the Advanced tab in the Options window that appears when the game is first launched. You will see a text field called Advanced Options; type in the command(s) you want into this text field as they appear below. If you want to enter more than one command make sure that each command is separated by a single space. If at any time you want to turn these options off simply click on the tick box to the left of the text field.

Q : Can I alter the sound levels of the different sound channels seperately?

A : Yes, the sound in Enemy Engaged can be adjusted in two ways. You can turn the main sound channels on or off and for some sound channels the volume can be adjusted individually.

Turning sounds on and off

When in the Enemy Engaged main menu screen turn sound on and off by selecting 'Options' then 'Sound'. This is available for the following four channels:

  • Sound Effects
  • Co-Pilot Speech
  • Music
  • Speech

Adjusting the volume

The volume of several sound channels can be adjusted individually. From the Campaign and Mission Planning screen select 'Options' (in the top right of the screen) then 'Sound'. The volumes of the following seven sound channels can be set individually:

  • Sound Effects
  • Warning System
  • Co-Pilot Speech
  • Wingmen Speech
  • Air Traffic Control Speech
  • Forward Air Control Speech
  • Ground Control Speech

Q : Some ground objects and roads flicker in and out. Why?

A : This is due to certain limitations in the original game engine. Although the Mac version has implemented a number of adjustments to reduce this problem there is still some flickering occasionally visible for ground objects - this is unlikely to be improved upon further.

Q : How can I find out more about Enemy Engaged?

A : The Enemy Engaged DVD contains two pieces of additional documentation to help you master the game. The first is an extended manual (in pdf format) that contains alot of information on the technical aspects of flying helicopters. The Chapter entitled "Ground School" is particularly worth reading. The second document is a strategy guide (in html format) - this is recommended reading if you want to improve your campaign skills.
